What Should a wRVU Clause in Your Contract Say?
The rate per wRVU, which year's CMS values it uses, who counts the work, and how missed charges get corrected. CMS values and the conversion factor change every year, so a clause without a year is a moving target.

Which year's values does it use?
CMS resets values every January. The conversion factor moved from $32.3465 in 2025 to $33.4009 in 2026 (CMS PFS relative value file, 2026). If your clause says "current CMS wRVUs," ask whether your rate moves with them.
Who counts the work?
Your billing system, from the charges that dropped. Ask how you will see the report, how often, and what happens when a charge is missing. A missed 99233 on a Sunday is 2.40 work RVUs that never reach your count; why your wRVU report doesn't match your notes covers how that happens.

How are corrections handled?
Get the window in writing: how many days you have to submit a missed charge, and who signs off. Ask whether a reconciled charge counts toward this quarter or the next.
What else should I ask?
What happens to the rate if CMS cuts a code you bill all day. The complete wRVU guide has the numbers to bring to that conversation. A tally of your own, like the one in Chartside's Tracking, is your copy of the record. The early-access list hears first.
